Unsweetened

Bz day Pt - Sg City #2
We do not need any sweetness in the world. In fact, I have come to the realization that we all need the most unsweetened life we can get. The more unsweetened, the more real and truthful we get. period.
Dear Reader, the word Unsweetened is something that I admit, I have acquired a certain affection but at first hated with all my gut. First, because it goes against absolutely everything, they (big companies) want to sell us globally and second, because the sweet is associated with love (psychologically speaking), so when I changed the afternoon sweet treat for something not sweet, it meant and felt denying the little love, my brain believed to obtain at those moments.
Based on my personal experience (and you can always count on that), after struggling all my life with being overweight, presenting insulin resistance diagnosed at the tender age of 17 years, with emotional and existential dissatisfaction, finally I feel I can say have reached a certain balance. And I also believe that this balance will always be one of the greatest victories in life.
But … How can it be? many of us either spend most of our lives worrying about this matter, others of us feel guilty for succumbing and finally there are others who simply give up to a life of processed foods and increasingly sharp and intense marketing … the worst part of it all is that, later we have the nerve to ask to ourselves, where does this type of cancer comes from? Why do I feel sad? depressed? Stressed? Anxious? As if we were in a perpetuated state of abstinence where if we only give in to this ‘’delicious dessert’’ in the afternoon just because ‘’I deserve it ‘‘;” Because I work very hard ”; ‘’YOLO’’ and whatever stupid excuse to justify the almost constant damage we do to ourselves.
‘’The perfect band-aid’’, the perfect band-aid for what? What are we trying to cover up with the afternoon sweet? Currently I keep constantly asking to myself, why on earth the world is in the cheat meals culture? …. cheat meals of what? …. why do they exist? What does that really mean? … Cheat meals on an emotional and psychological level I have come to understand; are emotional sabotage, we like to feel good doing something that is not good. We have the information there, but we like to deceive us, feeling Ok. Even though is bad… I deserve it, so maybe it’s good at some point. Shortcuts are never good. Ever. And eventually they will cost you much more than you think, even if its just one cupcake in the afternoon, ‘’for fun’’.
When I arrived in Singapore, I was weighing 89 kilograms. The experience of feeling completely isolated, that you start from 0 in every area of your life, changing absolutely everything you knew about food for something completely new, without knowing anyone other than yourself and your partner. (I take the opportunity here to dedicate this part to my husband, the most invaluable person in my life. My greatest support, my love.  Who always in every tear, in every questioning, in every moment of anger, in every kilo, In every dark period where I did not see light, accompanied me, silently but confidently. Always with words of love to give, which at the time felt like raindrops on a terrible desert day. I will always be grateful to have him and share this life journey).
Being over 20 kilos overweight among the extensive reading and study I went, I read books related to ketogenic nutrition (it is the one that works for me and my needs as an individual). I took the action to scrutinize every space and corner of my being with all the good, ugly and bad and somehow managed to discover that rebirth internally, never looked more beautiful. And eventually it got reflected in the physics with 30 kilos less.
True change must start from inside. From the roots… always.
This area dear reader, is to tell you about personal experiences about emotions related to eating.
This ‘’unsweetened lifestyle’’ part, does not mean, no more sugar… I mean, yea… it means no more sugar. But apart from that, it means we do not need sweetness, we do not need to sweeten anything. neither our food nor our lives, much less our emotions. Life is just life, is real… is raw. Is not sweet. Is not colored…. And when you think about it. What could be better? It’s the truth right infront of you.
Hope these different posts are useful to you, to feel empowered for making new changes. In the end, is your life we are talking about… what could be more precious?. Unsweetened never looked so satisfying. Lets just give it a try.
