10 Outstanding Benefits Olive Oil and Avocado Oil Brings to your Daily Life

Hello Dear Reader! How are you? hope you are feeling good, in good terms with existence and taking care of your mental health as it should be. You already know dear reader I try to talk about things, foods, and actions that will make our lives better and that it will help us reach to our best potential; and these 10 outstanding benefits Olive Oil and Avocado Oil Brings to your Daily life Post is no exception.

One of the major things I began to understand during the beginning of my nourishment of the self-journey Dear Reader, was the fact of the need to reduce inflammation out of my body.

I mean I didn’t even realize that I was suffering from inflammation by all the avoidance and escapism I used to do; especially when smoking, drinking myself out, loading myself with huge amounts of carbs, bad processed foods and overall, a poor care for my health. (aaa those crazy times…. Right?)

10 Outstanding Benefits Olive Oil and Avocado Oil Brings to your Daily LifeInflammation has been associated with major diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

Our body does not work well when dealing with chronic inflammation,

Vegetable oils are not at all healthy or beneficial to us and for what is worse it’s everywhere. From candies, to milk to breads. (they are eeeeverywheeeere)

I find extremely important to talk about how chronic inflammation works on us for a moment.

According to Healthline in their article named Understanding and Managing Chronic Inflammation they define inflammation as:

“your body’s process of fighting against things that harm it, like infections, injuries, and toxins, in an attempt to heal itself.
When something is threatening our cells, our body releases chemicals that trigger a response from our immune system.
This response includes multiple processes such as the release of antibodies and proteins, as well as increased blood flow to the damaged area. Like for example when we cut our knee or got a cold — the whole process usually lasts for a few hours or a few days”.

Inflammation is a wise way of our body to take care of us in case something is trying to harm us. It is supposed to be temporal and then go back into our usual normal and happy safe state.

But when we talk about chronic inflammation; is when we maintain this state of alert and protection for too long; and it becomes unsustainable and harmful.

After a while chronically inflamed; our system begins to show signs and over time, chronic inflammation may have a negative impact on your tissues and organs.

I also  find important to highlight the fact that when we are maintaining chronic inflammation the signs and symptoms can be subtle and last for months and years even without really noticing even.

These signs include from fatigue, body pain, depression or anxiety, gastrointestinal complications (diarrhea or constipation), weight gain, weight loss or in forms of persistent infections.

Give it a little more time and this whole matter inside your body will become a time bomb that  can lead to DNA damage, tissue death, and internal scarring. (Scary right?! I know)

So, you may ask dear reader, why am I talking about Chronic inflammation, cancer, heart disease and the like in this overall post supposedly relating the benefits of avocado oil and olive oil Brings to your Daily Life post.

Basically, my point here is just like anxiety, chronic inflammation makes us feel alert and ends up being an unsustainable chronical fearful way to experience life. (Definitely not what we are looking for right?)

By substituting vegetable oils such as canola oil, corn oil, Soybean oil, Cottonseed oil; Rapeseed oil and Sunflower oil (that have been proven to be highly inflammatory to the body given its quantities of Omega 6)

with other healthier oils such a avocado oil and olive oil;

we definitely help our bodies to keep us distant to chronic inflammation apart from other awesome benefits.

I thought about avocado oil and olive oil, given the fact that by cooking with these types of fruity fatty oils along with high temperatures, we truly make the most of foods nutrients and its taste.

Let’s define what Olive Oil and Avocado Oil are exactly

  •  Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is an edible oil extracted from the pulp of avocados, the fruit of Persea americana.

It is used as an edible oil both raw and for cooking, where it is noted for its high smoke point.

Avocado oil functions well as a carrier oil for other flavors.

It is high in monounsaturated fats and vitamin E, and also enhances the absorption of carotenoids and other nutrients.[4]

  •  Olive Oil

Olive oil is a liquid fat obtained from olives (the fruit of Olea europaea; family Oleaceae), a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin, produced by pressing whole olives and extracting the oil. It is commonly used in cooking: for frying foods or as a salad dressing.

Studies Relating Olive Oil and Avocado Oil

10 Outstanding Benefits Olive Oil and Avocado Oil Brings to your Daily Life

  • Avocado oil have been found rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which are linked with better heart health. In a small crossover study in 13 subjects, participants were first given either a control meal using butter (25 grams of saturated fat) or a test meal (25 grams of unsaturated fat) with avocado oil.

Over a 240-minute post-meal period, blood samples showed that the test-meal group had significantly lower levels of triglycerides, total and LDL (bad) cholesterol, inflammatory cytokines, and blood sugar compared with the control group.

  • Olive Oil; In a study published online January 10, 2022 in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology; where health data was collected between 1990 and 2018 for 60,582 women participating in the Nurses’ Health Study and 31,801 men in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study.
All participants were free of cardiovascular disease or cancer at the beginning of the study and completed dietary questionnaires every four years. During the study period, 36,856 people died. (HEALTHLINE)

Participants were asked how often they used olive oil in salad dressings, added to food or bread, or in baking or frying. According to the findings, people in the highest category of olive oil consumption (more than seven grams per day) had 19% lower risk of total and cardiovascular disease mortality, 17% lower risk of cancer mortality, 29% lower risk of neurodegenerative mortality, and 18% lower risk of respiratory mortality, compared with those who never or rarely consumed olive oil. (HARVARD TH CHAN)

  • One small study found that adding avocado oil to a salad with carrots, romaine lettuce, and spinachincreased the absorption of carotenoids. The increase was substantial — 4.3- to 17.4-fold — when compared with a salad without fat.

Other studies have shown that olive oil, which has a very similar oleic acid content to avocado oil, is highly effective in increasing the bioavailability of carotenoids.

Therefore, adding avocado oil to a salad, marinade, or other dish may help your body absorb more nutrients. (HEALTHLINE)

As we can see in the previous findings Dear Reader, both types of oil; avocado and olive oil have been proven to be effective to fight inflammation in our bodies.

Both are recommended to be used for prevention of heart diseases,

inflammation and even beauty benefits such a moisturizer our hair and skin. (Which is always a lovely plus of course)

I also love Coconut oil even though this last one might be a little more controversial.

However I got to admit, my favorite one is simply Olive oil Extra Virgin;

I feel like it gives food an extra especial taste.
